The Indianapolis skyline is underway with change again.

Construction work has begun on a parking garage for the “Block 400” project.

The parking garage is being built on the current One America employee parking lot at the corner of Illinois and New York streets.

The five-story garage is expected to be completed by late summer of 2013, and it will be part of a development in the area that includes a Marsh grocery store and nearly 500 apartments and additional retail spaces.

A skywalk is also scheduled to be built from the One America building to the new 930-space parking garage over New York Street.

The cost of completion for the “Block 400” project is expected to be approximately $85 million.
