Carmel Police alert residents of possible child abduction

CARMEL- The Carmel Police Department is warning residents of a possible attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, a suspicious van approached the teenager in the area of Keystone Way, near the MCL Cafeteria, at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The girl told police the driver told her to “Come here, get in.”  She told authorities she said no and ran away from the scene.

Police said the van did not follow her or attempt to approach her again.
The van was described to be dark blue or black and an older “junky” looking van.  The driver was described to be an older, white male with a “fat face” and gray beard.
