A Greyhounds great was in the house on Friday night, only this time wearing opponents colors.

Billy Shepherd-the 1968 Indiana Mr. Basketball-returned to his Alma Mater of Carmel High School on Friday night this time as the head coach of Marion.

Zach McRoberts and the Greyhounds made sure he wouldn’t be welcomed back with a victory.

The junior forward scored a game-high 18 points as Carmel easily bested the Giants 63-30 at the Eric Clark Activity Center. Ryan Cline added 12 points of his own while James and Michael Volovic chipped in 11 a piece.

After losing their first game of the season to Fishers a week earlier, Scott Heady’s team improves to 5-1 on the season and won’t hit the floor again for a week. They’ll face Avon on the road December 28th.
