church fire

An  early morning fire ravages a west side church. Smoke poured from the sanctuary of Westview Christian Church on 34th St., around 1 a.m. Firefighters had to break through windows to get inside to the damage. The IFD says the fire caused extensive damage to the worship space, burning through the floor joists in the altar area and leaving nothing but charred remains. But the pastor tells Fox 59, Sunday service will go on. Sunday School is cancelled, but morning worship is being moved to Speedway Baptist Church on Moller Rd. A Christmas Eve service will also be held at Speedway Baptist.
