Simon Malls announced Wednesday that they are closing all of their Indy mall locations due to the severe weather.

The company released the following statement:

“Due to the severity of the approaching snow storm, we feel it is in the best interest of our shoppers and employees to close the mall. If store employees have specific questions regarding their situation, we ask that they contact their store manager or supervisor. We hope to reopen at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, but please check our Facebook and Twitter feeds for the most updated information. Everyone stay safe and warm out there!

“The following Simon malls will be closed:

  • Washington Square
  • Hamilton Town Center
  • Greenwood Park
  • The Fashion Mall
  • Clay Terrace
  • Castleton Square
  • Circle Centre
  • College Mall
  • Edinburgh Premium Outlets
  • Muncie Mall

“As of right now, Tippecanoe and Markland Malls remain open. This may change throughout the day.”

It would have helped if you made the decision to close earlier before we even had to be at work. I hope all of the opening employees who had to be there early in the morning make it home safe.

I went to my retail job this AM and had to leave on my own; most employers just looking for the almighty dollar and don't want to let people go home. It was very difficult driving home. I may get fired, but did the right thing. I support Simon in using common sense!
