Metro Police Southwest District and SWAT Officers responded to a home on the south side early Monday morning.

Officers received the call to respond to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of West Sumner Road, near Harding Street, around 12:40 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a male suspect barricaded inside a house refusing to come out.

Dispatchers told responding officers someone fired one shot before they arrived.

Keeping a safe distance, officers made announcements over a loud-speaker encouraging the suspect to come out however the suspect stayed inside.

Officers obtained a search warrant and proceeded to fire bean bag rounds inside the home so a robot could be deployed inside the home before SWAT Officers entered.

Eventually, the police took the suspect into custody without further incident.

Police have not released the suspect’s name or any additional details into this incident.
