Today marks the 54th day of the annual 90 days with average Indianapolis’ temperature at 45 degrees or below. For most of December temperatures remained on the warm side of our averages but that has all changed with the arrival of snow. We have failed to reach the average high temperature in Indianapolis for 10 straight days right now. The last time we hit it was on the day before Christmas when we saw a high of 42°.
The next 7 days will see a little bit of everything with slightly warmer weather on Saturday with highs near 40 followed by light snow throughout the day on Sunday. Accumulations for Sunday’s snow will be light. As we head into the work week temperatures will begin to climb with mid 40s possible on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain will finally be in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday with the potential for some light snow on the backside of the rain on Thursday.
