The Pacers are in the middle of a rare four-game homestand, and Frank Vogel will get the opportunity to celebrate.  The team has announced a contract extention for the Pacers third year head coach. Terms of the deal were not announced.

The Pacers are in the midst of a seven-game home-winning streak heading into Tuesday’s contest against the defending World Champion Miami Heat.  Vogel has compiled an impressive 82-56 record in his breif time with the Pacers, that includes playoff appearances in each of his first two season.

Pacers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh issued the following statement:

“This is a good deal for Frank and the franchise. Frank has done a great job turning our team around since he became coach and deserves the chance to continue the work he and his staff have started.”

Vogel thanks those who made this extension possible:

“I’m honored that Donnie, Kevin (General Manager Pritchard) and Mr. Simon (owner Herb Simon) have such belief and faith in me to be their coach in the foreseeable future. We’ve established a great connection with our community the last two years, both on and off the court and I look forward to continuing that.”
