Tech High School will host an informational fair Wednesday for IPS parents to learn more about the preschool program for the 2013-2014 school year.

The Information and Application Fair will be held in the Tech cafeteria, 1500 E. Michigan St., from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The preschool program is for students living in the IPS district who will be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013.  An estimated 700 people attended the first day of the fair on Jan. 19. Enrollment will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis until all available classroom seats are filled.

IPS Preschool is working with Indiana’s Paths to Quality initiative, which provides a zero through four numerical rating of preschool providers across the state. All community partners will be required to maintain a level three or four Pathway to Quality status.

Parents and guardians coming to the fair Wednesday are asked to bring the following items if they wish to complete on-site registration:

  • Government issued photo identification
  • Proof of residency (must live within IPS district)
  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Child’s most recent immunization record

While there will be other opportunities to register for the preschool program, the fair offers the most convenient method. School and community partner representatives will be on site to answer questions. Those who have questions regarding IPS Preschool can call (317) 226-3912.
