Madison County Sheriff’s investigate homcide

MADISON COUNTY, IND. — Madison County Sheriff Deputies investigated an apparent homicide Tuesday morning.

Dispatchers received a call just after 3 a.m. Tuesday morning of a shooting in the 6400 block of West County Road 300 South near Lapel, Ind.

Deputies located a deceased person inside the home.

Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said in a press release that a person was in custody.

Investigators and officials from the Madison County Coroner’s Office are on scene.

Detectives are working to obtain a search warrant for the home.

Richardson said investigators have conducted some interviews, but are still in the early stages of the investigation.

The is no word on a possible cause of death or identity of the victim.

    The shooter is no longer a secret. He was booked in Madison county jail. Doug Cobb has always been violent. I am surprised it took this long for him to commit murder. I am so sorry for the victims and what they are going through.
