Police warn Fishers residents of overnight car thefts on west side

The Fishers Police Department is warning residents after two vehicles were stolen and several others were broken into overnight Monday on the city’s west side.

Police said the suspects gained entry into several vehicles in the Timber Springs, Burberry Place and Sunblest neighborhoods.

A Jeep and Chrysler Pacifica were stolen.  Authorities were able to recover the Jeep but continue to search for the Chrysler.

Residents are encouraged to call 911 if they observe suspicious activity in their neighborhood.  Anyone with information regarding these thefts are urged to contact police at 317-595-3300.

Fishers police recommend the following safety tips:

1. Avoid parking your vehicle outside.
2. If you must park outside, park in a well-lit area.
3. Lock your car—every time.
4. Remove all valuables from your car, including the garage door opener.
5. Do not advertise stereo equipment with stickers on the outside.
6. Consider installing an alarm system in your car.
7. Never leave keys in your car.
