Community Health Network is making sure Hoosier seniors have plenty to eat.

Wal-Mart donated $30,000 to the health care provider Thursday.

The Touchpoint Meal Program makes sure seniors have healthy and balanced meals.

The money will help go towards expanding the program to Community Health Anderson, South and Community Hospital Westview.

This really helps us to provide and expand to a needed population where they are choosing on a daily basis between taking medication and sometimes eating. So they can come here and get that nutritional balanced meal healthy and it’s a hot meal whether they want it here or to go,” said Shelley O’Connell.

The hospital said the recent closing of a large senior center, along with other economic factors, means more seniors don’t know where their next meal may be coming from.
