A head-on collision neat Castleton Square Mall has taken a man’s life and left three others injured.

Early Saturday morning, around 12:30 a.m., a black Chevy Tahoe was heading westbound on 82nd St., right in front of the mall and just east of the I-465 overpass. Witnesses say the truck was speeding erratically just before it crossed the median and smashed into a silver Chevy Silverado, that was traveling in the opposite direction.

It took IFD 15 minutes to extricate the female driver and male passenger from the Tahoe. He was transported to Methodist in critical condition, but died a short time later, according to IMPD dispatch.

The driver of the Tahoe as well as the man and woman in the Silverado, went to St. Vincent’s in stable condition.

No word yet on whether alcohol was a factor in this crash.

Was your cousin the pregnant woman or the one inside the Tahoe… I was a witness at the crash and I never got the pregnant woman’s name I wanted to make sure that her child and her were well.
