INDIANAPOLIS – A former Broad Ripple High School teacher will spend about three months in prison after pleading guilty in a child pornography case.

Detectives arrested Robert Fowler, 43, Noblesville, in May 2012 on nine felony counts of possessing child porn. Detectives said they found sexually explicit images of young children on his home computer.

Fowler pleaded guilty to the charges in November. Indianapolis Public Schools said it was unaware of any evidence that Fowler engaged in any illegal activity while he was at work.

Fowler was sentenced to two years in prison, but 640 days of his sentence have been suspended. In effect, he will spend about three months in prison. He received two days of credit for time served.

Fowler will also surrender his teaching license and register as a sex offender. He’s only allowed to use the internet to search for work.

Teacher's Union lawyers and influence got him off. Would you believe he is still on payroll until his license is surrendered? He would be back teaching if they managed to get him off completely.
