Fox59 News is learning more about the two Indianapolis teens accused of going on a crime spree across the city Wednesday.
Thursday, Indianapolis Metro Police announced charges for the 15 and 17-year-old teens accused of killing one man, shooting another and going on a crime spree across the city.
The two teens face felony robbery charges and are at this point considered suspects in at three other crimes that took place Wednesday morning– including the murder of John Yingling, who was shot while sitting in his truck in the 3300 block of Babette Court on the city’s south side.
Meantime, we’ve learned these two teens live close to each other and have extensive criminal histories.
Fox59 found pictures of the 17-year-old suspect showing a large sum of cash on his Facebook page. We also discovered an online video of the teen rapping, referring to robbing and killing. Now it looks like the teens face charges for that very same thing.
Detectives anticipate even more charges will be filed against the boys. They say they recovered a gun from the suspects on Wednesday, but Fox59 has learned the Indianapolis Fire Department Dive Team was searching for a second gun at Eagle Creek Reservoir off 56th Street Thursday.
An IMPD officer reported seeing an object thrown from the suspect’s vehicle during the pursuit.
IFD Dive Commander Captain Scott Huff is confident his team will find what was thrown from the suspect’s vehicle.
“We have a pretty good area we’re working and it’s gonna be from the shoreline out to about 14-15 feet and it gets to about waist deep at that point. What’s in here will remain here until we find it,” said Captain Huff.
We’re told the 17-year-old suspect is still in the hospital for a condition unrelated to the high speed crash that ended the pursuit.
Fox59 News has decided not to name the suspects or show their faces so as not to jeopardize the police investigation.
