Investigators say a school bus and a car collided in Lawrence Township on the east side, sending four children to the hospital for evaluation.

It happened Thursday morning near 42nd and Cordell just past Post Road after a car rear-ended the bus, which was from IPS Floro Torrence School 83. An ambulance was called to the scene.

According to Indianapolis Public Schools, four children aboard the bus were taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health after hitting their heads on the seat in front of them. The four students are siblings, the district said. Their injuries do not appear to be serious.

The driver and bus attendant were being evaluated for injuries.

This is the second crash of the morning involving a school bus. Around 7:30 a.m., a car rear-ended a Pike Township bus near 46th and High School Road. No students were hurt in that crash.

When are people going to start paying attention? It's a BIG YELLOW Bus w/ bright flashing lights! How do you miss this? Pay attention when you are driving! Oh and STOP when the stop arm is out and says STOP! The kids cross the road, how will you live with youself if you hit a child crossing because you are on your cell, drinking your coffee or whatever else distracts you. Grrrr
