Victim identified in fatal shooting on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS – Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting on the northeast side early Monday morning as they search for the suspected shooter.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Elisha McAfee, 33, died from a gunshot wound at the Free Spirit Lounge inside the Dollar Inn in the 8100 block of North Shadeland Avenue.

Police are actively searching for 41-year-old Brian Fegley in connection with that shooting. According to an IMPD report, Fegley is the roommate of McAfee’s mother. The shooting stemmed from an argument, according to McAfee’s wife, who said Fegley shot her husband while they were leaving the bar.

Police are actively searching for Fegley, who’s believed to be driving a maroon 2004 Ford Focus sedan with Indiana license plate 914 ETL. Police consider him armed and dangerous.
