INDIANAPOLIS – Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting on the northeast side early Monday morning as they search for the suspected shooter.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Elisha McAfee, 33, died from a gunshot wound at the Free Spirit Lounge inside the Dollar Inn in the 8100 block of North Shadeland Avenue.

Police are actively searching for 41-year-old Brian Fegley in connection with that shooting. According to an IMPD report, Fegley is the roommate of McAfee’s mother. The shooting stemmed from an argument, according to McAfee’s wife, who said Fegley shot her husband while they were leaving the bar.

Police are actively searching for Fegley, who’s believed to be driving a maroon 2004 Ford Focus sedan with Indiana license plate 914 ETL. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

If you know where police can find Fegley, call 911 immediately, or call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. Callers can also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274627.

I want to know what was he doing in a bar located in a transit motel. What seedy activity was he partaking in? Prostitute… drugs… ??? I'm surprised no one mentioned that. The picture above looks like a mug shot.

Prostitue? With his mom and wife there? Get with it! That bar is actually a lot of fun despite what the hotel looks like. I've hung out there several times and there was no "seedy activity" going on.

He was with his mom and wife, and he was a wonderful person. Maybe you should read the comments of his friends on here before saying something like that. You are incredibly rude.

RIP Eli, you will be missed! I am still in shock and cannot believe this has happened. A young life lost and I hope this a**hole is caught and justice can be served for Eli's family. I love you guys!

Maybe mom and daughter were prostitutes and the husband/son is/was the pimp..maybe Eli was the antagonist …..i'm just throwing out scenarios…..stop getting so defensive over a post.

    • Heather

The reason people are getting defensive is because WE know them! You don't need to throw out scenerarios about something you don't know anything about…they are wonderful and good people and don't deserve to be called names.

  • servingtruth

and you know them on the surface….you don't know them behind closed doors… you have no idea what they do when they are home…. maybe I do…. anyway…. the comment section is just that….it does not say comment only if you know the person.

Eli was a wonderful human being and a great dad. I spent a few years working with him. May the man who shot him rott in hell. My prayers to his mother, wife and children. Rest in peace bud.
