A Muncie man was arrested Saturday morning, accused of stealing a police car.

Investigators say Kevin Clark, 43, flagged down an officer at a gas station Saturday morning. He told the officer he locked his keys in his truck and needed help.

The officer agreed to help Clark, but went inside the station to use the restroom first. When the officer came back outside, the police car was missing.

Police were able to locate the stolen cruiser by using the GPS tracking device inside.

Clark was arrested after a chase. Police say he was not under the influence of alcohol. However, they are still waiting on the results of a drug test.

That guy must have been a real numb wit. What on earth was he thinking stealing a cop car. I mean that is by far the dumbest thing I have heard so far. How can people be so stupid? The fun part was he even managed to get a chase. That guy ought to be given an award something like "Whack job of the year" maybe. 😛
