A family is mourning after the body of a missing teen is found in a ditch.
Family friends tell Fox 59 19-year-old Elisabeth “Lissie” Pack was last seen getting picked up by someone at a Speedway gas station on 60th and Michigan Road on February 26.
Three weeks later, her body was found near 63rd Street and Bettcher Avenue on the northwest side.
“I’ve been going non-stop since I found out she was missing,” said Cierra Bronson, a family friend. “Every day all I think about is what I can do to find her. What can I do today to find her?”
Family and friends rushed to the scene immediately after hearing news of a body found.
“I’m pretty sure it’s her because she went missing around this area,” said Bronson. “She’s 19. She was innocent. She was a baby. She was fresh out of high school.”
Together, they waited anxiously to hear the verdict. Finally, police let Lissie’s father and brother over the crime scene tape to see the body.
Minutes later, no words were needed. Family and friends broke out in tears after Lissie’s father gave them a nod, identifying the body was that of his daughter.
Lissie’s brother, Sean Pack, told Fox 59 his family is finally finding some closure. He remembers his little sister as a young woman who lived life to the fullest.
“Now I know that’s she’s actually home,” he said. “It’s going to be different without her, but I know for a fact she’s looking over us right now. I know that for a fact.”
Elisabeth Pack’s body has been taken to the coroner’s office for an autopsy to determine a cause and manner of death. Police are asking if you have any information on this incident, call 317-262-TIPS.
