Police said they can finally close a 30-year-old cold case.

Paul Stucker, 52, was arrested in Gretna, La., Tuesday.

Officials believe Stucker murdered Johnny Hodge, 34, inside a cell at the Indiana State Prison back in 1983.

A tip led police to Gretna and to Stucker.

Stucker is being held in the Jefferson Parrish Sheriff’s Department Jail, awaiting extradition back to Indiana.

The U.S. Marshalls and Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force also assisted with the investigation.

It's a DAMN good thing there is no statue of limitations on MURDER! I'm assuming you've had a family member murdered, correct??? Well I have, and whether its 30, 10 or last week it is tormenting to a family to wait for justice for their loved one! Are you seriously suggesting that its ok to murder someone and get away with it if its been a certain amount of time passed! I pray you never experience what I have, and this man caused it! Thank God the ISP reopened this case and solved it! All of you should be praising them for getting him off the street!!!

This man is innocent and is leader of the local chapter of Mensa. You can tell by his tats and scholarly looks.

The Indiana State Police should be commended for making this arrest. Unless you know the WHOLE story, refrain from commenting. This man is a monster, and has murdered more than one "innocent victim" since his release from Michigan City…including my father. He was a loving, kind man who was robbed and killed by this man…and it feels like yesterday to a tormented family who waits for justice Iif he was locked up and convicted of this crime 30 years ago like he should have been my father wouldn't have died a horrible death. Unfortunately the amount of evidence it takes to get a conviction is seemingly inconceivable to most people. They were finally able to get him! I dont care who he goes to jail for murdering! it was through my fathers investigation that this cold case was reopened and solved! He should be in prison for the rest of his life and the state of Indiana should be grateful this man will no longer be able to hurt anyone else!
