INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are looking for leads following a deadly home invasion in which a man was shot during a robbery.

On the morning of March 15, IMPD homicide detectives arrived at the home of Thomas Tefft, 67, in the 7800 block of Hartcourt Spring Place. A man had entered Tefft’s home through the back door and shot him. Tefft died from his wounds. His wife was able to hide from the gunman, who stole Tefft’s 2009 Hyundai Sonata.

The car was located a week later, but police haven’t made any arrests. They also don’t have much to go on; the suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s. He wore a black stocking cap and a gray hooded jacket.
