A developer is submitting plans for new apartments in Broad Ripple, the Indianapolis Business Journal reported Thursday.

Browning Investments hopes to turn almost two acres of commercial space into a mix of 60 to 70 apartments and commercial space near College Avenue and the Central Canal.

It would replace a closed gas station and some older apartments in the area.

A rendering of the project is expected to be released next week.
