Suspect flips car following chase

A suspect became stuck in his overturned vehicle following a police chase Thursday.

A pursuit began shortly before 9 p.m. in Ingalls, Ind. That’s between Fortville and Pendleton.

The suspect led police on a chase northeast on US 36 into Fortville where, at one point, the suspect was driving on rims.

We’re told speeds reached more than 90 mph.

The suspect eventually crashed into a ditch near US 36 and Vitality Dr on the west side of Fortville.

It’s not clear what prompted the high-speed chase.

Hancock County dispatchers told Fox59 that Fortville Officer Matt Fox was one of the officer responding to the pursuit.

Fox was shot multiple times following a June, 2012 traffic stop and pursuit. Fox returned to field duties in January, 2013.
