The Pacers are in Boston awaiting Tuesday night’s game against the Celtics.  Team PR officials report that the members of their traveling party are ok following the explosions in the Boston area.

The organization released an official statement Monday afternoon.

The Pacers are currently in Boston, to play the Celtics on Tuesday night. We have talked to the team and everyone in the travel party has been accounted for.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected in Boston.

The team did not have practice Monday, instead many of the players and coaches went to the Boston Red Sox game.  A few team employees were walking back to the hotel from Fenway Park and heard the blast.  The team hotel is a little over a mile away from the finish line where the explosives went off.

The following Pacers employees have tweeted notes about their safety this afternoon.

David Benner @pacersdmb “Crazy day in Boston. Was couple blocks from finish line about 90 minutes before explosion. Very crowded. Prayers to those affected.”

Sam Young @samyoung4 “Wow, me and my teammate were at that marathon supporting them runners, God Bless all that was hurt and affected by this explosion!”

Chris Denari @chrisdenari “I am fine in Boston. Can’t call out on cell due to explosions. Texting only. @Pacers hotel @ Boston Harbor. Usually stay near Boston Common.”

Denari also talked about the scene in  Boston via telephone earlier this afternoon on Fox 59 News.
