FISHERS, Ind.– A Fishers woman was arrested after police said she provided alcoholic beverages to a group of minors during a party held at her house.

Lora Ann Essington was preliminarily charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor, a Class B misdemeanor.

Early Monday morning, officers with the Fishers Police Department responded to a home in the Cambridge Neighborhood, located at 96th Street and Cambridge Drive, due a report of a loud party.

When officers arrived, they found several young adults and juveniles standing in the yard.  As officers spoke with the individuals, they reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol. The juveniles told officers they had been drinking alcoholic beverages and were all under the age of 21.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the house, where they found several more minors consuming alcohol inside, said police. They later located Essington, who told officers she was aware there were minors drinking in her home.

Police arrested five people for minor possession of alcohol and eight people for minor consumption of alcohol.  Essington was arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
