INDIANAPOLIS — Metro Police stop an SUV on I-465 Wednesday morning in connection with an attempted armed robbery.

Officers spotted the SUV near West Washington and Ingomar Streets around 4:50 a.m.

They attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle sped away, eventually heading north on I-465.

The vehicle stopped just south of the West 38th Street exit where police apprehended the people inside the SUV.

It’s believed one or more of the people inside the SUV may be responsible for an attempted armed robbery at a Mexican restaurant near I-465 and West 10th Street.

A police report stated two men walked into the restaurant and displayed a long gun. The robbers made off with no cash and no injuries were reported.
