Woman struck by stray bullet inside house

INDIANAPOLIS — A stray bullet strikes a woman inside an east side home overnight Monday.

Indianapolis Metro police officers responded to the 1300 block of North Bolton Avenue, near 16th and Arlington, around 12:30 a.m.

Police talked to the victim and her friend after the shooting. She told officers she was doing her friend’s hair when she heard gunshots.

Witnesses told police the shooter apparently fired shots into the apartment from outside.

The victim was slightly injured with a gunshot wound to the armpit area. Medics transported her to Wishard Hospital.
