Police arrest hit-and-run suspect after motorcyclist’s leg is amputated

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run accident.

Corey Dunz is charged with failure to stop at a serious bodily injury crash, a class D felony.

The accident happened at East Morris and South Meridian Streets on May 1.

An anonymous tip led police to Dunz’s vehicle.

Dunz told police he was driving his BMW when he ran into David Heady, 46. Heady had to have his leg amputated as a result.
