PLAINFIELD – Investigators in Hendricks County have released the names of three people accused of carrying out a bank robbery Friday that ended with one of them dead.

Police said William McKnight, 43, Demetrius Worley, 24, and Lori A. Armstrong, 44, robbed the State Bank of Lizton at 2100 Stafford Road in Plainfield Friday morning. All of the suspects are from Indianapolis. The FBI Safe Streets Task Force had a suspicious vehicle under surveillance.

A brief pursuit in areas near the bank forced daycare centers and schools to go on lockdown as a precautionary measure. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots as authorities tried to track down the trio. Investigators said McKnight was shot and killed after refusing orders to put down his gun.

Police captured Worley and Armstrong.
