Pet-related donations needed for Oklahoma tornado victims

Hundreds of people, and their pets, are without homes following a series of tornadoes in Oklahoma. The Red Cross, Salvation Army and several other organizations are already stepping up to help the human victims. And now, Indianapolis is stepping up to help the animal victims.

Pet-related donations will be accepted at FOP Lodge 86 and Wayne Township Fire Station #885.

FOP Lodge 86 at 1525 Shelby St. will accept donations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Wayne Township Fire Station #885 at 7981 Crawfordsville Rd. will accept donations from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. They will also accept donations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The following items are needed:

  • Dog food
  • Cat food
  • Wire Kennels
  • Crates
  • Small blankets
  • Towels
  • Collars
  • Leashes
  • Litter pans
  • Cat litter
  • Water dishes

Once a truck is filled, Hoosiers will drive the supplies down to a rescue/shelter in Oklahoma.
