INDIANAPOLIS – A Labor Day tradition will have to wait until next year.
Organizers of the annual Rib America Festival said they’re taking the year off. The food and music festival has been held on Labor Day weekend for nearly two decades, but attendance has been down in recent years.
The biggest problem has been the weather, organizers said. In 2011, extreme heat turned visitors off. Last year, rain was the major issue. Organizers said it’ll be just a one-year break—adding that they’re planning to retool the festival and bring it back in 2014.
This year’s event would have been the 18th annual Rib America Festival.
