Police remain committed to Lauren Spierer case as anniversary approaches

With the two-year anniversary of Lauren Spierer’s disappearance approaching, the Bloomington Police Department is reaffirming its commitment to the case.

A statement released Friday read in part:

“Information continues to come in regarding Lauren’s case and investigators diligently pursue the information with the same level of commitment as in the beginning.

“No amount of time passing will deter us from our responsibility and we remain dedicated to Lauren’s cause.”

Lauren disappeared in the early morning hours of June 3, 2011. She had been out partying with friends in Bloomington.

Since her disappearance, investigators say they’ve received more than 3,000 tips.
