A man is behind bars after crashing his pickup truck into a Jiffy Lube on the northeast side, and then running off, early Sunday morning.

Witnesses say the guy came flying through the intersection at 82nd Street and Allisonville Road right before slamming into Jiffy Lube and lodging his front wheels in an oil-changing bay.

That’s when he jumped out and took off.

Police arrived to find the truck empty but hunted the driver down, hiding out at a nearby apartment complex. Police say the driver says he tried to stop but couldn’t stop because his brakes gave out.

But it turns out, the man didn’t have a license to drive anyway.  He was carted to jail, arrested for operating a vehicle without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.
