Handicap parking violation fine to double July 1

If you park in a handicap space and you don’t have the proper tags, you can expect to pay double beginning next month.

A new law goes into effect July 1.

If you get caught parking in a handicap zone without a permit you will now pay $100. Currently, the fine is $50.

Last year, 200 citations were issued for improper parking.
