Officers honored at IMPD awards Friday

Several IMPD officers were recognized for their commitment to protect and serve at a special awards ceremony.

The 2013 IMPD Honor Awards was held at Clowes Auditorium at the Central Library Friday.

Officers were honored for bravery, outstanding contributions to the force and exceptional work in our neighborhoods every day.

Officer Andrew Branham was awarded the Purple Heart for his work in capturing the suspect accused of shooting Officer Matthew Fox. The Purple Heart is IMPD’s highest honor.

Police Chief Rick Hite and Deputy Mayor Olgen Williams presented more than 150 officers with awards.
