Review of storm reports and warnings from Sunday afternoon

Latest update: All severe thunderstorms and flash flood warnings have expired.  A flood warning remains in effect for eastern Boone, eastern Hendricks and western Marion county until 2 AM.   Flooding will be possible from Speedway to the Zionsville area.  Some of these locations have received more than 4″ of rain since 4 PM.

5:35 PM: Look at current storm activity in Central Indiana.  Rain in the metro is finally coming to and end with only light showers remaining.

4:52 PM: The NWS has issued a FLOOD ADVISORY for Boone and Hamilton County until 8 PM. Watch out for water on the road!

4:45 PM: Flash Flood Warning for western Marion County until 7:30 PM.  3″ of rain is estimated by radar in this area.  The west side of Indianapolis, Clermont, Eagle Creek Reservoir and the Indianapolis International Airport may experience flash flooding.

4:38 PM: 2.2″ of rain reported on the west side of Indianapolis.

4:30 PM: All warnings allowed to expire, heavy rain continues to fall in Marion, Hendricks, Boone and Hamilton County.

4:15 PM: Plainfield trained spotter reports FLASH FLOOD at 04:50 PM EDT — flooding on Ronald Reagan Parkway near US 40

4:10 PM: 20 to 25 trees downed in Salem Creek housing addition on Bridgeport Road between Washington and Morris in Indianapolis.

4:15 PM: Flood Advisory issued for Hendricks and Morgan county until 7 PM. Radar estimates 2.5″ of rain has fallen in these locations in the past hour.  Flash flooding reported at Washington and Girls School Road in Indianapolis. 

4:09 PM: Report of a tree blown down at Rockville and Girls School Road in Indianapolis.

3:50 PM: .25″ diameter hail reported in Brooklyn (Morgan County)

3:45 PM: Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for eastern Boone, southwestern Hamilton and northwestern Marion County until 4:30 PM. 60 mph winds, 1″ hail and torrential downpours possible as storms continue to the northeast at 25 mph.  Zionsville, Whitestown and Westfield are in the path of this storm.

3:30 PM: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Hendricks, Marion [IN] till 4:00 PM EDT. 60 mph winds and 1″ hail possible.  This storm will impact Brownsburg, Speedway, Avon, the Indianapolis International Airport, Clermont, Wynnedale, Spring Hill, Eagle Creek Reservoir, Rocky Ripple, Crows Nest, North Crows Nest, Broad Ripple, Meridian Hills and Williams Creek here in the Indianapolis area.
