Heavy rain has fallen for several hours this afternoon in Shelby County, especially in the town of Shelbyville.  The NWS issued a Flash Flood Warning earlier this afternoon and it will expire at 8:30 PM.  But at the time of the warning, radar had already indicated 2-3.5″ of rain had fallen near Shelbyville.  As you can see from the image below, there’s no doubt that heavy rain has fallen.

Flooding was reported of several city streets as well as out at the fair grounds.

Several of our Fox 59 Street Team members jumped into action and took the following photos when the water was a the highest level.  We are hearing that most of this water has receded at this time (8 PM).  Remember, never try to drive through flooded streets.  It’s always better to turn around and take a different path.
