BP is now settling a class-action lawsuit affecting hundreds of Hoosiers.

The company will pay $7 million in damages for contaminated gas.

It was distributed from the refinery in Whiting to nearly 600 gas stations in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Ohio last summer.

Drivers who filled up with the bad gas dealt with serious car trouble, including damage to their engines and fuel systems.

Those who bought the tainted fuel will be contacted soon about the settlement.
