INDIANAPOLIS – After a decade, Hoosier Lottery drawings are back on the air in Indiana. In Central Indiana, live ball drawings for Powerball® and Mega Millions® will air on WXIN-TV FOX59.

FOX59 is now the Official Draw Station of the Hoosier Lottery.

Powerball drawings air on Fox 59 Wednesday and Saturday nights at 10:59 p.m.  Mega Millions drawings air Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. and will add to that list in the fall with the Daily 3 and the Daily 4 drawings.

“The decision to reinstitute televised live drawings comes from listening to Hoosiers and Hoosier retailers, and putting that feedback into action with something they overwhelmingly said they want,” said Karl Browning, executive director of the Indiana State Lottery Commission.

The Hoosier Lottery was established by the will of the people in 1989, and distributions benefit Hoosiers all across the state with millions of dollars reinvested in police, firefighters’ and teachers’ pensions, and in significantly reducing vehicle-owners’ excise taxes.

The Hoosier Lottery and FOX59 partnership, and the Central Indiana Powerball and Mega Millions broadcast debut, are the first steps in a broader initiative to put Hoosier Lottery drawings back on TV across the state, from Gary to Lawrenceburg and from Angola to Evansville and all points in between. Details regarding statewide broadcast will be forthcoming.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Hoosier Lottery in bringing the excitement of Powerball and Mega Millions drawings plus Daily 3 and Daily 4 drawings into homes across Central Indiana” notes Michael Brouder, FOX59’s Director of Marketing and Creative Services. “Together, we’re creating some interesting ways to get the word out and generate buzz among players across the state.”

The Hoosier Lottery and FOX59 will be conducting a talent search to cast on-air draw talent in conjunction with the Daily 3 and Daily 4 live TV drawings.  Details of that contest are forthcoming.

All Hoosier Lottery winning numbers will continue to be available through traditional media distribution as well as at hoosierlottery.com.
