A visitor was arrested Monday after guards said she tried to smuggle drugs to an offender at the Correctional Industrial Facility in Pendleton.

According to jail officials, Katrina Braley was arrested on charges of trafficking a controlled substance with an offender, a class C felony.

A staff member saw Braley attempt to pass items to an offender during a visit. Recovered contraband included 200 suboxone strips, seven grams of marijuana and two grams of an unknown substance that’s being tested by Indiana State Police. The materials have an estimated value of at least $16,000.

Braley was taken to the Madison County Jail.
