The Indianapolis Zoo sets the tallest point of the International Orangutan Center in place Friday afternoon.

The 25-ton spire is 75-feet tall and is known as the Beacon of Hope.  At night the Beacon of Hope will be lit up by lights the orangutans turn off and on.

This spire makes the whole orangutan center 150 feet tall.  That’s about 90 feet taller than the top of the Zoo’s dolphin building.
