Hundreds turn out for vigil for Peyton Riekhof
Hundreds gathered at Hamilton Southeastern High School for vigil for a missing Fishers teen Monday evening.
Peyton Riekhof, 18, disappeared on Thursday. A Silver Alert was issued Friday night, but later canceled.
Authorities pulled Riekhof’s car out of Geist Reservoir on Sunday. They believe it went through a yard and then into the water.
Surveillance video showed she was last seen at a gas station at 96th Street and Olio Road.
Students, parents and youth leaders are praying for her family and holding onto good memories of Riekhof.
“She was one of the most genuine people I’ve ever known,” said Allie Gibbons, Reikhof’s friend. “One of the very few people you can say is truly beautiful inside as they are outside. She would do anything for any of her friends.”
Gibbons added that Riekhof’s family is doing “terribly” and she is devastated by what may have happened.
“I mean I’ve known she was in a dark place, but I never expected something like this,” she said.
Youth leaders are making themselves available for friends and HSE students.
