A new NFL policy is changing what can be brought into Lucas Oil Stadium this year.

Fans can only bring in clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches.

Fans can no longer bring in seat cushions, coolers, briefcases or any bag larger than the newly approved size.

Next month, all Colts season-ticket holders will be sent a bag that meets the new guidelines.

“What we’re hoping to have happen here is not just the increased public safety, but to expedite fan entry. Obviously there are different bags that are permissible. A small clutch purse doesn’t need to be clear,” said Larry Hall, Vice President of Ticket Operations.

Accommodations will be made at certain gates for people with special medical needs. Also, every member of a family will be able to carry in approved bags.

The first home game is Aug. 11.
