INDIANAPOLIS – For all of the accomplishments he’s had on and off the track, one thing has eluded one of the most popular open wheel drivers in America.

Three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves has never won and Izod IndyCar Series championship despite winning 22 races in the series since he joined in 2001. Twice (2002 and 2008) Castroneves has finished as the series runner up, but this year that could change.

With five races left in the season Castroneves is 31 points ahead of Scott Dixon for the top spot in the IndyCar Series points championship. Solid performances at Sonoma, Baltimore, two races in Houston and Fontana would give the Penske Racing driver his elusive series championship.

Castroneves took some time after the IndyCar race in Ohio to speak with Fox 59. Click on the video above to listen to the interview.
