INDIANAPOLIS – An arrest has been made in connection with a murder Tuesday at a west side apartment complex.

Cortez Jones was arrested Wednesday night by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives in the death of Anthony Kimmons, who was fatally shot.  Another victim, Reginald Fagan, nearly drowned in a retention pond at the Aspen Village Apartments, near West 34th Street and Georgetown Road.

Investigators think Jones tried to shoot Fagan at the same apartment complex on the Fourth of July.

Jones was also wanted for marijuana possession and parole violation.

Witnesses say Fagan jumped in a pond to escape his attacker, but couldn’t swim and was then rescued by a neighbor.
