The Raiders opened up the 2013 season with a bang, nearly shutting out Heritage Christian at their house. Cardinal Ritter racked up a 38-0 lead by the end of the first half and it wasn’t until the 3rd quarter that the Eagles finally got on the scoreboard.

Cardinal Ritter was led by a number of seniors who came just a win shy of becoming state champions in 2012. Wide Receiver Kyree Hollis caught three touchdown passes in the first half while Logan Beaman ran in two scores.

“We had some things we came in trying to get accomplished and my hat off to our offensive line they knew we were going to try and run the ball. And whoever picked us to lose 28 points, well we took pride in that,” said Head Coach TY Hunt.

“It’s a big start. We still have a lot to learn. We executed the things we learned in two-a-days,” said Hollis.

Cardinal Ritter improves to 1-0 on the young season, they will host Indianapolis Lutheran next Friday at 7 p.m.
