Sources confirm to Fox59 that Indianapolis will put a bid in to host the 2018 Super Bowl.
A news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Bud Light Zone at Lucas Oil Stadium. Indianapolis hosted Super Bowl XLVI in 2012 to nearly universal acclaim, and the city wants another shot.
Those expected to appear at the announcement Friday include Gov. Mike Pence, Mayor Greg Ballard, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, former Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday, 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee Chairman Mark Miles and Indiana Sports Corp. President Allison Melangton.
Other cities vying for the game include Minnesota, Atlanta, New Orleans, Denver and Miami.
