Convicted killer Sarah Jo Pender will not get a sentence modification.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said his office declined a request by Pender to modify her sentence. Pender was convicted for her role in the murders of two roommates in 2000.

She asked for the modification based on new evidence from a former prosecutor who claims newly discovered notes in the Pender homicide case file cast doubt on the credibility of one of her main accusers.

Pender can pursue an appeal through the courts.
