Special tribute paid to IMPD Officer Rod Bradway

IMPD Officer Rod Bradway was on the minds and hearts of many as they gathered for an annual run. Police officers and the community gathered for the Beyond  the Badge 5K Run and Walk. They paid tribute to officers killed in the line of duty, Officer Rod Bradway who was killed Friday morning. Hundreds of people showed up at Crown Hill Cemetery for the event. Many police officers showed up in uniform or in their patrol cars.

Beyond the Badge started a dozen years ago to honor Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Baker. He was killed in the line of duty on September, 17th 2001. Jason’s family said their prayers go out to the officer Bradway’s family and friends. Jason’s dad, Jerry Baker, and Crown Hill Cemetery wanted to honor him and all public safety professionals. The run raises money for the Jason M. Baker Public Safety Scholarship. A scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a career in public safety.
