Now is the time for thousands of Hoosier high school students to start thinking about where they want to go to college. College Go Week kicked off across the state Monday.

It’s a time for students in all high school grade levels to plan for college.

They’ll take part in different activities depending on their grade level. For freshmen, it’s a graduation plan and for juniors, it’s a career assessment.

“It’s important to start encouraging them before they ever even enter a school building,” said Teresa Lubbers, Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education. “It’s important that they know what steps they need to take to be ready.”

Other college planning activities include campus visits and making commitments to perform well academically in high school.
